PGA Tour 2K25 Tees Up Early 2026 Launch on Nintendo Switch 2

2K Games has officially announced that its critically acclaimed golf simulator, PGA Tour 2K25, will swing onto Nintendo Switch 2 with a scheduled release for February 6, 2026.

This highly anticipated port marks the series' debut on Nintendo’s next-generation hybrid console, extending the reach of the PGA Tour 2K franchise to an even broader audience. PGA Tour 2K25 is set to deliver the complete next-gen golf experience on Switch 2, matching the feature set of its PC and current-generation console counterparts.

Fans can expect to see signature modes such as MyCareer, cross-platform Societies (a.k.a.

clubhouses where players can join communities and compete), the robust Course Designer, and comprehensive online multiplayer options.

Recognizing the flexible design of the Switch 2, 2K Games also confirmed the inclusion of a fully offline gameplay mode, optimized for on-the-go play. The PGA Tour 2K series originated as The Golf Club, which launched in 2014 from indie developer HB Studios.

Following two well-received entries, 2K Games acquired the studio, rebranding the series under the prestigious PGA Tour label.

The first title under this partnership, The Golf Club 2019 featuring PGA Tour, paved the way for the transition to the current naming convention and a regular release cadence since 2021.

Over successive entries, 2K and HB Studios have iterated on gameplay, mechanics, and authenticity, resulting in a golf sim that is praised for its realism, though not without some criticism regarding microtransactions. In an official press release, 2K Games highlighted the game's innovative 'EvoSwing' system, which uses both joysticks to closely replicate the physical motion of a golf swing.

Players preferring a more classic approach can opt for the traditional three-click swing mechanic, reminiscent of the beloved Tiger Woods PGA Tour series.

PGA Tour 2K25 will also launch with three of the sport’s premier major tournaments: the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club, the U.S.

Open at Oakmont Country Club, and The Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club.

Additionally, players can take to the greens across 28 officially licensed courses and, for the first time, compete as the legendary Tiger Woods, who is available as a playable character. The arrival of PGA Tour 2K25 on Nintendo Switch 2 reflects 2K Games’ commitment to supporting Nintendo’s hardware with its flagship sports titles, capitalizing on the console’s portability and expanding player base.

As the February 2026 release date approaches, Switch 2 owners and golf fans alike can look forward to a full-featured, authentic simulation experience brought to life on Nintendo’s hybrid platform.
