PEGI Rates Tales of Eternia Remastered for Nintendo Switch: What the Rating Reveals

The Pan European Game Information (PEGI) has issued a rating for Tales of Eternia Remastered on Nintendo Switch, further confirming the JRPG's return to current platforms as part of Bandai Namco's ongoing remaster efforts.

The Tales remaster program, overseen publicly by series producer Yusuke Tomizawa, has already delivered multiple updated releases for Nintendo Switch and other systems and continues to expand its catalog of classic titles.

According to PEGI's published summary, Tales of Eternia Remastered follows the role-playing story of Reid and his companions Farah and Keele as they encounter a mysterious girl named Meredy, who speaks an unknown language.

Their search for Meredy's origins leads the party across a dimensional boundary to a distinct realm called Celestia, the rating notes.

PEGI also outlines the game's content descriptors for prospective Switch players.

The rating states the remaster includes non-realistic depictions of violence against human and fantasy characters: players defeat pixelated enemies using magic and weapons such as daggers, spears, swords and axes.

Combat can be frenetic with exaggerated, colorful impact effects; characters have visible health bars that deplete when hit, and both party members and foes react to attacks in a stylized, non-detailed manner.

In battles, defeated squad members remain on the ground while defeated enemies typically vanish quickly.

The rating additionally identifies coarse language, including the word "bastard," in the game's dialogue.

In a separate update tied to the series' 30th anniversary, producer Yusuke Tomizawa said the team intends to continue advancing the remaster project with the aim of assembling as many remastered titles as possible and delivering them quickly.

Tomizawa confirmed Tales of Berseria Remastered as a recent announcement and noted that three remastered titles were revealed in the year of his message.

He added that work on bringing more classic Tales entries to modern platforms will continue into 2026.

The Remastered Project timeline, as outlined by Bandai Namco and public announcements, followed Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition and has since included releases such as Tales of Symphonia Remastered, Tales of Graces f Remastered, Tales of Xillia Remastered and Tales of Berseria Remastered, with Tales of Xillia 2 Remastered confirmed to be in development.

For Nintendo Switch owners, PEGI's rating is a verified content reference as the remastered library expands on the eShop and physical platforms.
