Overwatch 2 x Persona 5 Royal Collaboration Brings Phantom Thieves Skins to Nintendo Switch

The much-anticipated Overwatch 2 and Persona 5 Royal collaboration is set to launch on September 16, running through September 30, and is available on all major platforms, including the Nintendo Switch.

This crossover introduces an array of new content inspired by Atlus’s celebrated JRPG Persona 5 Royal, bringing a unique Phantom Thieves flair to Blizzard’s popular hero shooter. This event marks another milestone in Overwatch 2’s history of innovative and community-driven collaborations, fostering excitement among both Overwatch and Persona 5 Royal fans.

Blizzard Entertainment has worked closely with Atlus to infuse the visually dynamic and stylish aesthetic of Persona 5 Royal into the world of Overwatch 2, especially for the Nintendo Switch community, players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The event features a dedicated event hub themed with signature Persona 5 Royal menu visuals.

Players can participate in exclusive challenges, uncover unique Easter eggs, and experience fresh game interfaces inspired by the Phantom Thieves.

Most notably, the event introduces five highly-anticipated Legendary skins, transforming well-loved Overwatch 2 heroes into Persona 5 characters: - Wuyang as Joker - Mercy as Panther - Lifeweaver as Fox - D.Va as Queen - Genji as Skull Dion Rogers, Overwatch 2’s Art Director, explained the intent behind the collaboration: "We infused the event with distinct artistic details, celebrating Persona 5’s unique style.

For example, Mercy’s Panther skin features Carmen-inspired visuals, such as rose petals cascading from her wings, and Wuyang’s Joker skin incorporates elements recalling his Persona, Arsène.

Every hero’s movement leaves a vibrant trail of paint splashes, further emphasizing the crossover’s artistry." Rogers highlighted that the event hub will include original key artwork by guest artist Shigenori Soejima, renowned for his work on the Persona series.
