Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially announced the arrival of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition for the Nintendo Switch platform, further expanding the acclaimed Musou-style action series’ reach across modern gaming hardware.
Slated for release in Japan on December 21, 2017, this port brings both new and returning players an expansive One Piece brawler experience complete with additional value.
Originally launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in 2015, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 charted impressive critical and commercial success, blending the iconic world of Eiichiro Oda’s manga with the dynamic, crowd-based combat of Koei Tecmo's Dynasty Warriors franchise.
Developed and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, the latest Deluxe Edition for Nintendo Switch leverages the hybrid system’s capabilities while offering the definitive version of the beloved title.
All content from the base game is included in this Switch port, ensuring access to the original sprawling adventure covering major story arcs from the East Blue up through Dressrosa.
Notably, the Deluxe Edition further enhances its value by including a total of 42 downloadable content (DLC) items—comprising extra challenge episodes and a wide array of character costumes previously sold separately.
This comprehensive package makes the Switch version the most content-rich edition available to date.
For technical performance, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition runs at a native 1080p resolution while the console is docked and 720p in handheld mode, consistently maintaining smooth gameplay at 30 frames per second across both configurations.
Cooperative play has also been optimized for Nintendo Switch’s flexible control schemes: two-player local co-op is supported in both TV Mode and Tabletop Mode, with each participant required to use a dedicated pair of Joy-Con controllers.
However, it is important to note that unlike its PlayStation 4 counterpart, the Nintendo Switch version does not offer online co-op functionality.
With its comprehensive collection of DLC, accessibility on the go via handheld mode, and proven action gameplay, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Deluxe Edition further cements the collaboration between Bandai Namco Entertainment and Nintendo.
Fans in Japan can prepare to set sail on December 21, 2017, either at home or on the move through the Nintendo Switch eShop.
