Nintendo Switch Online Launches Donkey Kong Bananza Icons: Dates, Details, and How to Get Them

Nintendo Switch Online has unveiled a fresh collection of player icons inspired by the newly released Donkey Kong Bananza.

Continuing its ongoing tradition of rewarding subscribers, Nintendo is offering a themed set of exclusive icon elements that Nintendo Switch Online members can unlock and use to customize their profiles.

The first set of Donkey Kong Bananza icons went live on July 9 and will remain available until July 23.

Nintendo Switch Online members can exchange their earned Platinum Points for these limited-time icons and related visual elements directly through the Nintendo Switch console.

As is customary, new icon designs will be introduced every Wednesday in North America, and every Thursday for European users.

This weekly rollout will continue through August 13, concluding at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET. This icon series features a range of characters and designs from Donkey Kong Bananza, including classic favorites like Donkey Kong himself, Pauline, and additional characters from the game's vibrant universe.

Each character icon can be claimed for 10 Platinum Points, while accessory elements such as frames and backgrounds are available for 5 Platinum Points apiece.

These points can be accumulated through various Nintendo online activities, including using the Nintendo eShop, participating in promotions, or completing My Nintendo missions. A Nintendo representative emphasized the ongoing commitment to providing Switch Online members with exclusive digital rewards, highlighting the popularity and community engagement that comes with each new icon collection.

According to the statement, Nintendo aims to "bring fans closer to their favorite franchises" by offering profile customization options tied to recent releases and franchises. Recent updates to Nintendo Switch Online have consistently featured icon drops celebrating major first-party releases, encouraging both active engagement and sustained subscription growth.
