Nintendo has officially revealed the launch details for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 in Southeast Asia, marking a significant step forward in the company’s global expansion strategy.
The next-generation console is scheduled to debut between July and September 2025 in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
This announcement is poised to excite Nintendo fans and industry watchers, as it signals Nintendo’s ongoing commitment to broadening its market presence in the region.
According to Nintendo’s official statement, the Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive in these four markets within the third quarter of 2025.
While specific pricing has not yet been disclosed, the company confirmed that two distinct SKUs will be available at launch: one standard SKU without a game, and another bundle featuring a physical copy of Mario Kart World, one of Nintendo’s flagship racing franchises.
Additionally, Nintendo will extend its popular digital storefront and subscription service to these new territories.
For the first time, the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Switch Online services will be available on the Switch 2 across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.
This move provides players with direct access to a wide range of digital titles, online multiplayer gameplay, and additional benefits unique to Nintendo’s ecosystem.
In a clear statement shared with regional media, Nintendo confirmed: “The new game system, Nintendo Switch 2, will be released between July and September 2025 in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
We are working to launch online services, such as Nintendo Switch Online and the Nintendo eShop, in these countries.”
This planned rollout not only enhances the gaming experience for Southeast Asian players but also brings these countries in line with other global markets enjoying direct digital access and online services on Nintendo hardware.
The initiative reflects a growing focus on international parity in Nintendo’s release strategies and digital infrastructure.
While fans await additional details on pricing and regional availability, the announcement underscores Nintendo’s dedication to supporting gamers in emerging markets through enhanced access and ongoing service commitments.
As the Nintendo Switch 2 prepares for its Southeast Asia debut, anticipation is expected to build throughout the region for what promises to be the next evolution in Nintendo gaming.
