Description

Nintendo has officially announced the opening date for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders in the United States, providing clarity on availability and pricing as anticipation for the next-generation console continues to grow.

Following an earlier delay prompted by tariff-related developments, Nintendo confirmed that US consumers will be able to reserve their Switch 2 systems starting April 24, 2025, ahead of the console’s launch on June 5, 2025. The latest details from Nintendo confirm that the Nintendo Switch 2 will debut at a launch price of $449.99.

In addition, fans can opt for the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle, which will be available for $499.99.

These prices were initially announced on April 2, 2024, and Nintendo has reiterated that there will be no change for the console and bundle pricing at launch. Game software pricing will also remain steady.

"Mario Kart World" will retail for $79.99, while the upcoming "Donkey Kong Bananza" will launch at $69.99, aligning with previously communicated pricing.

Both physical and digital editions are included in this confirmation, ensuring consistency for early adopters of Nintendo's new platform. However, Nintendo did note adjustments for Nintendo Switch 2 accessories.

As stated in the company's update, changes in market conditions have prompted revisions to accessory prices compared to the initial April 2 announcement.

The Switch 2 Pro Controller will retail for $84.99, the newly designed Joy-Con 2 Pair for $94.99, and additional accessories such as the Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip ($39.99), Camera ($54.99), and Dock Set ($119.99) will reflect updated pricing.

Nintendo also highlighted that future market fluctuations could result in further adjustments to product prices. Nintendo addressed the pre-order timeline shift by apologizing for any inconvenience, stating that the decision was intended to reduce uncertainty for consumers.

The company expressed gratitude for customer patience and shared its excitement for the upcoming launch. Retailers such as Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, and Target have already established dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 product pages online.

Interested customers are encouraged to monitor these pages as pre-order windows approach. With momentum building around the Nintendo Switch 2 launch—including high-profile titles such as Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza—Nintendo continues to position its latest hardware as a focal point of gaming in 2025.

Consumers can expect more official updates via Nintendo Direct presentations and the Nintendo eShop as release day nears. For additional Switch 2 news and updates on software availability, accessories, and retail partners, keep an eye on official Nintendo channels and leading retailer websites.
