Nintendo has officially unveiled the Malaysia release date for its much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 system.
In a detailed announcement, the company confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2, along with flagship titles like Mario Kart World and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, will launch in Malaysia on July 3, 2025.
This rollout follows the global launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 scheduled for June 5, 2025.
Other key Southeast Asian territories, including Singapore, are set to receive the new console on June 26, 2025.
Taiwan will follow Malaysia's launch, with a release planned for July 10, 2025.
With these coordinated release dates, Nintendo continues its commitment to expanding its reach in the Southeast Asian gaming market, ensuring fans in the region have swift access to their latest hardware and top-tier first-party games.
Nintendo highlighted that the titles included in the Malaysia Switch 2 launch package are among the most awaited by fans.
Mario Kart World seeks to redefine the popular racing franchise with new tracks, refined controls, and exclusive features only available on Nintendo Switch 2.
Meanwhile, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition offers enhanced visuals and performance, harnessing the upgraded hardware capabilities of the new system to deliver an enriched experience for one of Nintendo’s most lauded franchises.
However, Nintendo has clarified that the Nintendo eShop and Nintendo Switch Online services for Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and nearby Asian territories will be introduced at a later date.
This means players will have to wait slightly longer for access to digital purchases, cloud saves, and online multiplayer features.
In a translated statement, a Nintendo spokesperson explained that services are being rolled out in phases “to ensure optimal user experience” as the company continues to expand its infrastructure in the region.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has already garnered substantial anticipation worldwide, building upon the massive success of the original Nintendo Switch, which has surpassed 130 million units in global sales since its 2017 debut.
With regional launch dates confirmed and new flagship titles on the horizon, Nintendo is poised to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia and beyond.
Malaysian gamers and Nintendo enthusiasts can look forward to premium gameplay experiences starting July 3, 2025, as Nintendo sets the stage for the next generation of console gaming in the region.
