Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO Opens with Exclusive Products and Experiences for Fans
Nintendo has officially launched its second flagship Nintendo store in the United States, unveiling Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO in the heart of the city’s iconic Union Square at 331 Powell Street.
The new retail location was inaugurated with a grand ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Doug Bowser, President and COO of Nintendo of America, alongside San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, marking a significant expansion of Nintendo's direct fan engagement footprint on the West Coast.
During the opening event, Bowser expressed gratitude to both the city and its residents for their warm welcome, extending an open invitation to fans of all ages to experience the unique offerings at Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO.
In a festive moment, the popular Nintendo character Mario made a surprise appearance, delighting the crowd of guests and fans gathered for the celebration.
Spanning two stories, Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO is designed as more than a traditional retail store—it’s a destination for both locals and visitors to immerse themselves in the world of Nintendo.
Guests can shop for a wide variety of exclusive Nintendo products, including apparel, toys, collectibles, and home goods themed around acclaimed franchises such as Super Mario, Animal Crossing, Splatoon, The Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, and Pokémon.
Special edition items, like Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO-branded apparel and stationery, are available solely at this location.
For dedicated fans and collectors, the store offers hands-on opportunities to customize their own Nintendo Switch – OLED Model system.
At the exclusive hardware kiosk, visitors can select Joy-Con, wrist strap, and dock color combinations, creating a personalized Switch console to take home the same day.
Throughout the store, guests will discover larger-than-life statues featuring beloved Nintendo characters from series like Super Mario, Splatoon, The Legend of Zelda, and Pokémon—ideal for memorable photo opportunities.
Demo stations provide a chance to try out classic and current Nintendo Switch games, while a giant gaming screen on the lower level invites groups to play together and will serve as a hub for viewing future Nintendo Direct livestream events with fellow fans.
Shoppers can also participate in the My Nintendo loyalty program.
By checking in at the dedicated My Nintendo kiosk with their Nintendo Account, guests receive an exclusive Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO sticker and earn 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points for their visit.
To manage the anticipated crowds, Nintendo SAN FRANCISCO requires Warp Pipe Pass reservations for entry from launch day through May 18, as well as on select dates following the opening.
These complimentary passes operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are available via the official Nintendo experience events website.
