WWE 2K25 has made a successful debut on the Nintendo Switch 2, and the game’s impressive port has now been credited to Shiver Entertainment.

This confirmation comes directly from a recent job posting on Shiver Entertainment’s LinkedIn hiring page, where the company listed WWE 2K25 on Nintendo’s next-generation hardware among its most recent achievements.

Shiver Entertainment, founded in 2012, is widely recognized for its expertise in porting major titles across multiple platforms.

While the studio has collaborated with prominent publishers in the past, 2023 marked a significant shift when Nintendo officially acquired Shiver Entertainment, signaling a strengthened commitment to first-party support for the Nintendo ecosystem.

The acquisition, initially met with surprise within the industry, underscores Nintendo’s ongoing strategy to enhance its game library and internal development capabilities. "We are proud to bring WWE 2K25 to the Nintendo Switch 2 platform, contributing to our growing portfolio of high-quality console adaptations," conveyed Shiver Entertainment in a professionally phrased update on their hiring platform.

The company’s statement highlights not only its technical proficiency but also a growing role in ensuring flagship experiences for Nintendo’s expanding player base. The latest WWE game’s release stands in sharp contrast to the previous franchise installment on Nintendo hardware.

WWE 2K18, which arrived on the original Nintendo Switch in 2017, was handled by Blind Squirrel Games—a team also known for their work on Sonic Colors: Ultimate.

Reception of WWE 2K18 was mixed, with performance issues cited as a major detriment.

However, the improved hardware of the Nintendo Switch 2 allows WWE 2K18 to run more smoothly via backwards compatibility, although the original port’s limitations remain apparent compared to Shiver Entertainment’s recent effort. WWE 2K25 on Nintendo Switch 2 is already available on the eShop, and its launch marks a positive step for both the WWE 2K series and Nintendo’s newly acquired studio.

By leveraging updated technology and a fresh development partner, Nintendo continues to reinforce its position as a leading home for multiplatform gaming experiences. Gamers and industry watchers alike can expect more technically impressive ports and adaptations from Shiver Entertainment as the studio deepens its relationship with Nintendo—a promising development for fans of third-party support on Nintendo platforms.
