The company reiterated the program during Nintendo's latest financial results briefing, where president Shuntaro Furukawa outlined plans that span a theatrical film, a global concert tour, collectible merchandise and additional product tie-ins tied to the series.
At the briefing Furukawa said the company will pursue a range of initiatives across this year and next to mark the series milestone.
He explained Nintendo intends to broaden how consumers experience Zelda by expanding into film, music and character merchandise, and to present multiple ways for both longtime fans and newcomers to enjoy the franchise.
