Nintendo Celebrates Splatoon’s 10th Anniversary with Original Soundtrack on Nintendo Music and New Switch Online Icons

Splatoon has firmly established itself as one of Nintendo’s premier franchises, and June 2024 marks the 10th anniversary of its vibrant debut.

To commemorate this significant milestone, Nintendo is delivering a special treat for fans: the release of the complete original Splatoon (Wii U) soundtrack on the official Nintendo Music mobile application, alongside the introduction of limited-edition Splatoon-themed icons for Nintendo Switch Online members. In honor of a decade of Turf Wars and Splatfests, Nintendo has curated a soundtrack release featuring 47 tracks from the original game, clocking in at an impressive 1 hour and 28 minutes of music.

Fans can look forward to tracks from beloved in-universe bands such as the Squid Sisters and other energetic favorites like "Splattack!", "Seaskape," and "Calamari Inkantation." "Through Nintendo Music, our goal is to bring memorable game music directly to our global player community," a Nintendo spokesperson stated, reflecting on the anniversary initiative.

This new Splatoon soundtrack joins Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 3 albums, which are already available via the Nintendo Music app for mobile devices.

To enjoy the new soundtrack, players will need an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription, underscoring Nintendo’s commitment to enriching its membership services and celebrating community milestones. In addition to the soundtrack, Nintendo has rolled out exclusive Splatoon-themed icons for Switch users.

These icons, offered as part of the Nintendo Switch Online rewards, allow fans to further personalize their profiles.

For just 10 Platinum Points, members can redeem unique Splatoon portraits, and for 5 Platinum Points each, they can access themed borders and backgrounds.
