Nintendo is set to expand its commitment to player feedback and service improvements with the announcement of a second Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program.
Following the success of the October 2024 playtest, this new initiative will allow an even larger pool of users—40,000 in total—to participate in helping shape the future of the Nintendo Switch Online service.
The upcoming Playtest Program is scheduled to take place from Monday, July 28th at 6 p.m.
PDT through Sunday, August 10th at 5:59 p.m.
PDT.
This marks a significant increase from the previous playtest, which was limited to 10,000 participants.
The expanded participant base highlights Nintendo’s commitment to gathering robust feedback to enhance its online subscription service, which continues to play a vital role in the Nintendo Switch ecosystem.
To qualify for participation, applicants must be at least 18 years old, possess an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription, and have a Nintendo Account registered in one of the following regions: United States, United Kingdom, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, Brazil, or Mexico.
Those interested can apply either individually or as a group of up to four users, making it easier for friends or family members to join the experience together.
Applications for the Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program are open until Monday, July 21st at 7:59 a.m.
PDT.
Selection will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis, emphasizing the advantage of early application for hopeful participants.
The official Playtest Program webpage provides comprehensive instructions and further details regarding the registration process.
According to Nintendo’s official statement, the company once again requests that all participants respect the confidentiality of the program.
Testers are asked not to disclose or discuss any information related to the Nintendo Switch Online Playtest Program’s software or website.
This policy is intended to protect both the privacy of the process and the proprietary aspects of the service under review.
Nintendo Switch Online remains an integral feature for Switch owners, offering access to online multiplayer, a growing collection of classic games, exclusive deals, and cloud save backups.
With this latest Playtest Program, Nintendo not only demonstrates its ongoing investment in service quality but also strengthens its engagement with the global Nintendo community.
Players interested in shaping the next evolution of the Nintendo Switch Online service are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria and submit their applications as soon as possible.
