Nintendo maintains its strong presence in the European digital marketplace this week by announcing an early and diverse eShop update.

This week's lineup sees a balanced mix of new releases and retro classics, spanning platforms such as the Nintendo 3DS, Wii, and DSi.

While the Wii U takes a brief hiatus from the list, both new and returning titles across the Nintendo eShop, WiiWare, and DSiWare continue to reinforce the company’s commitment to delivering broad entertainment options for fans.

Leading the 3DS eShop this week is Splash or Crash, available at an accessible price of €2.99 / £2.69.

Known as Kersploosh in North America, this Nintendo-developed title invites players to direct a range of objects—from pebbles to jewels—down a well while navigating a variety of unpredictable obstacles.

Its straightforward but quirky gameplay, combined with appealing budget pricing, positions Splash or Crash as an engaging pick for anyone seeking quick, fun challenges on the go. Retro fans have reason to celebrate as well with the arrival of Pac-Man for the 3DS Virtual Console.

Developed by Namco Bandai and priced at €4.99 / £4.49, this NES version brings the arcade legend’s classic ghost-chasing action to portable play, now with two-player support.

The 3DS port not only maintains faithful performance to the original arcade experience but also surpasses former handheld editions by offering improved features and convenience. On DSiWare, the seasonal mini-game collection Easter Eggztravaganza makes its debut.

Developed by Microvalue and available for 500 Nintendo Points, Easter Eggztravaganza is tailored to a younger audience, with activities such as egg painting, shopping visits, and family gatherings culminating in a traditional egg hunt.

The game primarily features spot-the-difference and coloring mini-games, capturing the spirit of holiday-themed entertainment. WiiWare sees a significant highlight with the long-awaited launch of Retro City Rampage from Vblank Entertainment, available at 1,000 Nintendo Points.

After a protracted delay, this retro-inspired open-world action game finally arrives on Wii, packed with nostalgic, pixel-art chaos reminiscent of earlier GTA entries.

Notably, this version includes the unique ROM City Rampage mode, which showcases what the core experience would be like on NES hardware—a rare treat for classic gaming enthusiasts.

Retro City Rampage has already garnered critical acclaim on multiple platforms, further solidifying its status as a noteworthy addition to the Wii’s digital library. Finally, Natsume introduces Reel Fishing Ocean Challenge to WiiWare for 500 Nintendo Points.

This installment continues the publisher’s sports fishing simulation series that’s well-known among Wii owners.

While the core gameplay remains familiar, some critiques have centered on underwhelming motion controls, visuals, and the presence of paid downloadable content. Nintendo’s latest suite of eShop releases combines nostalgic reimaginings with new experiences, maintaining the company's tradition of supporting both legacy gamers and newcomers alike.

With major releases such as Retro City Rampage and reliable classics like Pac-Man, alongside inventive budget titles and family-friendly mini-games, the platform continues to demonstrate its wide-ranging appeal in the competitive digital landscape.
