Bandai Namco Entertainment has kicked off PAC-MAY, a month-long birthday celebration for the arcade icon Pac-Man, with a teaser for a new animated short series titled Pac-Man: Snack Breaks.
Produced in partnership with New York–based animation studio Cartuna, the first episode of the series is scheduled to premiere on YouTube on May 22, 2026, with Bandai Namco confirming a new episode will arrive each month.
The announcement positions Snack Breaks as a reinvigoration of the franchise’s visual storytelling.
Bandai Namco described the series as following Pac-Man as he moves from PAC-Village to the neon sprawl of NEW PAC-CITY, where everyday moments escalate into fast-paced, snack-fueled adventures.
The company emphasized that Team Ghost will continue to pursue Pac-Man, and that the shorts blend action, high-energy comedy and inventive worldbuilding to honor the series’ past while launching Pac-Man into a new chapter.
Pac-Man’s birthday activities under the PAC-MAY banner extend beyond the animated shorts.
Bandai Namco has stated the celebration will include live events, tournaments and fan-focused happenings, plus cross-promotional tie-ins.
One confirmed crossover highlighted in the announcement is a Fruit Ninja x Pac-Man collaboration.
Additionally, Bandai Namco is offering Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac players a complimentary costume, which will be added to Nova’s Costume Shop in the game.
Pac-Man is one of gaming’s longest-running franchises, originally released by Namco in 1980 and subsequently appearing across arcade and home platforms.
While the Snack Breaks shorts will debut on YouTube, the character and related titles have a long history on consoles, handhelds and modern systems including releases and compilations on platforms such as the Nintendo Switch.
For fans and observers in the industry, PAC-MAY represents another example of how legacy IP is being extended through short-form animation, live events and crossovers to drive engagement across games and media.
Bandai Namco’s release schedule for Snack Breaks and the accompanying promotional programs will be the primary items to watch over the coming months; the company has indicated it will provide additional updates as new elements of the campaign roll out.
