Nintendo has outlined its 2026 holiday plans, combining a high-profile public appearance, store events and a national merchandise rollout.
The company confirmed the iconic Super Mario balloon will return for the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, Nov. 26, and has launched the My Nintendo Holiday Magic Sweepstakes offering a chance to win a two-night trip to Nintendo New York.
According to Nintendo, the sweepstakes entry window is open now and runs through Nov. 2, 2026.
One winner and up to three guests will receive a travel certificate covering the base fare of a roundtrip JetBlue flight (government taxes and fees excluded) and a two-night hotel stay, with travel dates scheduled between Dec. 3 and Dec. 7, 2026.
Nintendo also said the prize package includes a personal tour of the Nintendo New York store and access to in-store holiday event activities, subject to event timing and availability.
Retail and merchandise are a central focus this season.
Nintendo announced that hundreds of select items previously exclusive to Nintendo New York and Nintendo San Francisco are now available nationwide online via Nintendo.com and the Nintendo Store app.
The expanded catalog includes exclusive items, collectibles and apparel inspired by Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Splatoon and other Nintendo franchises.
Nintendo said both brick-and-mortar stores will adopt seasonal displays and programming: mid-November will bring festive window displays and decor to Nintendo New York and Nintendo San Francisco, while special holiday events at Nintendo New York are slated to begin in early December.
The company noted visitors can expect exclusive holiday merchandise such as the Super Mario Winter Collection, holiday gift guides, limited-time gift-with-purchase offers (while supplies last), and scheduled appearances from costumed characters including Mario and Luigi.
As for the Macy’s Parade, Nintendo confirmed the Mario balloon will fly as part of the parade’s centennial celebration.
The broadcast will air on NBC, Peacock and Telemundo beginning at 8:30 a.m. in all U.S. time zones on Nov. 26.
