Pikmin Bloom Celebrates 3.5-Year Anniversary with Nintendo Consoles Event on Mobile

Niantic has officially announced the upcoming Nintendo Consoles Event for Pikmin Bloom, set to run from May 1 to May 31, 2025.

This time-limited event marks the 3.5-year anniversary of Pikmin Bloom, inviting players worldwide to collect unique Decor Pikmin inspired by some of Nintendo’s most iconic game consoles from the 1980s and 1990s. Pikmin Bloom, developed by Niantic in collaboration with Nintendo, has continued to expand its content and in-game events since its original launch on the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android.

As a location-based mobile game, Pikmin Bloom encourages players to explore their neighborhoods, plant virtual flowers, and grow their Pikmin teams in real-world environments.

The Nintendo Consoles Event is the latest in a series of creative crossovers celebrating Nintendo’s legendary hardware history. During this anniversary event, players will be able to discover new variants of Decor Pikmin, each sporting costumes modeled after classic Nintendo game consoles.

These include designs based on beloved hardware from the ’80s and ’90s, adding a nostalgic touch for longtime fans of the brand.

Additionally, the event features special Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin—a nod to Nintendo’s beginnings as a playing card company. Throughout the Nintendo Consoles Event, players can participate in Event Challenge missions.

Clearing each mission rewards participants with random items.

These prizes include Game Button Cells—special seedlings that can be grown into Nintendo Consoles ’80-’95 Decor Pikmin—alongside flower petals and other in-game bonuses.

Notably, when the prominent Big Flower at the center of each stage blooms, players are guaranteed to receive a Gold Seedling in addition to their standard event rewards. Event missions will focus on collecting Game Button Cells, and by completing these tasks, players can unlock event-exclusive costumes for their Mii avatars as well as new seedlings for the Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin.

Niantic has stated that these reward mechanisms are designed to keep the event engaging for both new and longtime players. Pikmin Bloom is available as a free download on both the App Store and Google Play, empowering players on iOS and Android devices to join in the anniversary celebration.
