Blaze, the renowned company behind the Evercade retro gaming lineup, has officially announced a new launch date for its highly anticipated Neo Geo Super Pocket and Data East Super Pocket handheld consoles.
Distributed through subsidiary HyperMegaTech, both handheld gaming systems were initially slated for release early this year.
However, due to logistic and supply chain delays, the global launch has now been rescheduled to July 10, 2025.
The postponement was confirmed by Blaze’s communications manager Sean Cleaver, who stated the company has encountered unforeseen shipment delays affecting regional availability.
In a message to customers, Cleaver said the launch is "being moved to July 10th, 2025, as shipments have arrived later than planned in our territories." He emphasized Blaze’s continued commitment to making these retro handhelds accessible across all targeted markets, adding that the team "is working diligently to ensure stock reaches all regions as quickly as possible."
Both retro-inspired Super Pocket devices are positioned as affordable, portable alternatives to the likes of the Nintendo Switch for classic game collectors and fans.
Each model comes pre-installed with an impressive library of iconic arcade and console titles from decades past.
The Data East Super Pocket arrives preloaded with 17 classics, including fan favorites like Bad Dudes vs.
Dragon Ninja, BurgerTime, Karate Champ, Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja, and Wizard Fire.
The official list also features lesser-known gems such as B-Wings, Burnin’ Rubber, and Edward Randy, making this handheld a comprehensive showcase of the publisher’s arcade legacy.
Meanwhile, the Neo Geo Super Pocket includes 15 celebrated games from SNK’s legendary catalog.
Highlights include Metal Slug X, Samurai Shodown II, Fatal Fury Special, The Last Blade, Shock Troopers 2, Mutation Nation, and Blazing Star.
This rich selection offers new and seasoned players alike the chance to experience arcade-perfect versions of some of gaming’s most influential titles on modern hardware.
The Super Pocket handhelds are designed in partnership with HyperMegaTech, a Blaze subsidiary focusing on delivering affordable and accessible hardware to retro gaming enthusiasts.
The devices support physical Evercade cartridges, aligning with Blaze's mission to preserve gaming heritage and offer value-driven options in the contemporary handheld landscape.
Evercade and Blaze have earned industry recognition for their dedication to quality retro collections and their specialized hardware.
While the delay is sure to disappoint eager fans, the forthcoming July 2025 launch ensures units will be widely available, meeting the company’s high standards and customer expectations.
Collectors and aficionados can look forward to securing either—or both—of these devices from July 10, 2025 via the official HyperMegaTech website and partnered retailers.
