Nintendo Switch Online Expands N64-Themed Icon Collection for Expansion Pack Subscribers

Nintendo is continuing to enhance its Nintendo Switch Online experience by rolling out a fresh wave of Nintendo 64-themed user icons.

This initiative, which is exclusive to subscribers of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, celebrates both classic franchises and the legacy of the N64 console on the Nintendo Switch platform. Kicking off on November 2, 2022, the promotional event gives Expansion Pack members access to limited-edition profile icons, each inspired by some of the most beloved Nintendo 64 titles.

In November, subscribers were able to redeem icons featuring characters and artwork from Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, and Kirby 64.

December welcomed new icons from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, F-Zero X, and Yoshi’s Story, followed in January by the release of Mario Kart 64, Star Fox 64, and Paper Mario icons.

This special icon campaign wrapped up on February 3, 2023, providing several months of rotating content for fans to personalize their Nintendo Switch profiles. In addition to profile icons, Nintendo launched a series of exclusive promotions tied to the Expansion Pack subscription.

Through January 31, 2023, Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers could earn double My Nintendo Gold Points on the purchase of eligible digital Nintendo 64 games and downloadable content from both the eShop and the My Nintendo Store.

This incentive was aimed squarely at rewarding loyal fans and encouraging engagement with the digital storefront and online services. Nintendo also delighted its Japanese audience by unveiling a new line of merchandise themed to the N64 era.

Available only to Expansion Pack members in Japan between November 2, 2022, and January 31, 2023, the collection included items such as T-shirts, mugs, and stickers—all adorned with nostalgic N64 motifs and game-related artwork.

This exclusive merchandise added an extra dimension to the celebration of classic Nintendo games and provided tangible keepsakes for dedicated fans. The collaboration between Nintendo Switch Online and featured N64 titles continues to reinforce Nintendo’s commitment to leveraging its vast back catalog, while rewarding subscribers with unique, platform-specific benefits.

As of the latest updates, each wave of N64 icons has gone live as scheduled, marking another successful engagement campaign for Nintendo’s ever-growing online ecosystem.
