Published by Eastasiasoft in collaboration with Mission Critical Studios, Handcrafted Mystical Games, and Normal Distribution, this reimagined version brings dramatic updates to a 1983 classic renowned for its challenging multi-room exploration and clever puzzle design.

A pivotal title in the early era of platforming games, Montezuma’s Revenge originally captivated players with its interconnected chambers, requiring sharp timing and problem-solving to collect treasures and overcome dangers.

The forthcoming 40th Anniversary Edition elevates this legacy with a complete 2.5D remake, refreshed widescreen HD graphics, and a modernized presentation, while retaining the tightly honed gameplay that made the original a fan favorite. Players can now embark on their quest as either Pedro—the iconic explorer from the original game—or his sister Rosita, bringing new representation without compromising the franchise’s DNA.

This edition boasts 100 rooms to navigate, matching the developer’s initial vision for the 1983 release, and offering the most expansive take on Montezuma’s Revenge to date.

Each chamber teems with pitfalls, color-coded keys, devious enemies, and artifacts for intrepid adventurers to collect.

"With more rooms, new characters, and updated visuals, players can relive a timeless classic in its most complete form yet." Physical copies of Montezuma’s Revenge: The 40th Anniversary Edition will be offered exclusively through Play-Asia, with a collector’s edition limited to 2,000 units.

The package includes a game cartridge, manual, soundtrack CD, a numbered certificate, and a unique key-shaped USB drive containing the PC version of Montezuma’s Revenge: Director’s Cut.

All items are housed within a box featuring brand-new artwork, catering to collectors and longtime fans alike.
