Nintendo has expanded the Game Boy Advance (GBA) lineup available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers on the Expansion Pack tier by adding Monster Rancher Advance, METAL SLUG ADVANCE and Kururin Paradise to the service.

The company published the announcement alongside a new promotional trailer, and confirmed the titles are available immediately for eligible subscribers.

Japanese Switch Online subscribers will receive Dragon Buster in place of Kururin Paradise.

These additions bring three distinct GBA-era experiences to the Switch Online catalog.

Monster Rancher Advance is part of Tecmo’s long-running Monster Rancher franchise (now under Koei Tecmo), which originally debuted as a PlayStation series in the late 1990s.

METAL SLUG ADVANCE represents the SNK run-and-gun series’ portable outing on GBA, a franchise that began as an arcade shooter in 1996.

Kururin Paradise continues Nintendo’s quirky Kururin puzzle-action lineage that first appeared on the Game Boy Advance hardware in the early 2000s.

In plain journalistic terms, Nintendo stated that Expansion Pack subscribers will gain immediate access to these Game Boy Advance titles through the Switch Online service and that the regional lineup differs in Japan, where Dragon Buster replaces Kururin Paradise.

The company also shared a trailer showcasing gameplay highlights from each release.

The inclusion underscores Nintendo’s continued strategy of leveraging retro catalogs on modern hardware: the Game Boy Advance launched in 2001 and remains a frequent source of classic portable titles for the Switch Online GBA library.

By adding titles across different genres — monster-raising simulation, arcade run-and-gun, and puzzle-action — Nintendo is broadening the variety available to subscribers.

For players already on the Expansion Pack tier, the new entries should appear in the GBA section of the Switch Online app on Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo has not tied these additions to a limited-time window; they are listed as part of the live, rotating catalogue.

A new trailer accompanies the announcement and can be viewed through Nintendo’s official channels.

With this update, Nintendo maintains its pattern of steady GBA additions to the Switch Online collection, giving subscribers further reasons to explore retro handheld games on modern hardware.
