Kumagumi, the Japanese clothing firm, has announced two new Metal Slug–themed shirts released in time for Halloween, both drawing direct inspiration from Metal Slug 3’s notoriously zombie-filled second stage.

Metal Slug is SNK’s long-running run-and-gun series; Metal Slug 3 originally launched in arcades in 2000 and the franchise has since appeared across numerous platforms, including re-releases on modern systems such as the Nintendo Switch.

According to publicity images shared by Kumagumi on its official account (@kumagumi_jp), the pair of shirts lean into the horror elements of Mission 2 from Metal Slug 3.

One design showcases a zombified version of Tarma, the series’ recognizable playable soldier, rendered with a heavy cinematic splash of blood.

The other shirt carries text on the front reading 'Misson 2 Start' alongside gore-forward imagery; Kumagumi’s product photographs show a distressed, arcade-inspired layout that echoes the original game’s on-screen prompts.

Kumagumi has also styled the back of one shirt with the phrase 'The fright is now.' Rewriting that for clarity: Kumagumi describes the back of the piece as bearing the line "The fright is now," presented as a deliberate, Halloween-themed take on SNK’s iconic marketing phrase.

That phrasing positions the apparel as a tongue-in-cheek homage for fans of the series rather than an official SNK item.

The shirts are being promoted specifically for the Halloween season and appear alongside other Metal Slug–themed apparel in Kumagumi’s published collection.

The company’s social posts include high-resolution photos of the prints and fabric details; interested buyers are directed to the brand’s product pages to view the full lineup.

The announcement highlights how classic arcade-era iconography—character art, mission text, and bold splatter effects—translates into contemporary streetwear.

For Metal Slug fans who play the series on platforms such as Nintendo Switch or follow SNK releases via Nintendo Direct and the eShop, the Kumagumi drop provides a collectible fashion option that references one of Metal Slug 3’s most memorable stages.

The collection is currently visible on Kumagumi’s official channels, where full product images and ordering information are available.
