Capcom has set an unparalleled benchmark in its storied history, announcing record-breaking financial results for its fiscal year 2025.
The renowned Japanese publisher, recognized for industry-defining franchises like Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and Street Fighter, has once again surpassed expectations, reaffirming its position as a global powerhouse in video game development and publishing.
According to Capcom's official FY2025 financial report, the company posted its highest-ever consolidated sales and operating income.
This achievement marks the eighth consecutive year the publisher has reported increased profits across all major categories, alongside a tenth straight year of over 10% operating income growth and twelve years of general operating income improvements.
In a statement, Capcom emphasized that this represents "the highest consolidated sales and operating income in Capcom history."
The fiscal year’s key figures underscore Capcom's robust performance:
- Net sales reached 169,604 million yen, reflecting an 11.3% rise year-on-year.
- Operating income climbed to 65,777 million yen, up 15.2% from the previous year.
- Ordinary income increased to 65,635 million yen, a growth of 10.5% year-on-year.
- Net income attributable to owners of the parent hit 48,453 million yen, showing an 11.7% increase.
A central driver of this impressive growth was Monster Hunter Wilds.
Since its launch on February 28, 2025, the title has sold over 10.1 million copies, according to Capcom's official numbers.
The company notes that its top ten best-selling games for FY2025 were overwhelmingly dominated by Monster Hunter and Resident Evil entries, with Street Fighter 6 standing out as the only third franchise represented.
Looking ahead, Capcom outlined its immediate strategy for the upcoming fiscal year, FY2026, prominently featuring the Nintendo Switch 2.
The publisher plans to release Street Fighter 6 for the new hardware alongside the highly anticipated Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.
Additional highlights from Capcom's release roadmap include the Onimusha 2 remaster for Nintendo Switch and Capcom Fighting Collection 2, as well as other in-development titles that are yet to be announced.
Capcom reaffirmed its commitment to achieving yet another year of double-digit operating income growth.
With a proven track record of successful launches and an unwavering support for Nintendo platforms—including past ports and Cloud Version releases on the Nintendo Switch—the expectation among industry observers is that more native titles are on the horizon with the enhanced capabilities of the Switch 2.
As Capcom continues to break its own records, the gaming community can look forward to a robust lineup across the Nintendo Switch ecosystem and beyond.
The publisher's continued focus on digital content sales, new releases, and embracing the latest Nintendo hardware signals an exciting future for fans and stakeholders alike.
