Ubisoft and platform holders are preparing a native version of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy for the Nintendo Switch 2, with the game scheduled to arrive on the platform Thursday, November 5, 2026.

The title, originally developed by Eidos-Montréal and released in 2021 on other platforms, will be showcased on Switch 2 with two TV-mode graphic presets and support for the console's docked variable refresh rate (VRR) functionality.

In an official post on X dated October 30, 2026, the game's account confirmed the Switch 2 release and detailed the graphical options available in TV (docked) mode.

The post said the game will offer a Quality Mode targeting 30 frames per second at 1440p, and a Performance Mode designed for 120 Hz televisions that targets 40 frames per second at 1080p.

The announcement also confirmed support for the Switch 2's docked VRR feature.

Rewriting the announcement in plain journalistic language: the official Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy account explained that players can choose between a Quality preset running at 30 fps with a 1440p render, or a Performance preset aimed at 40 fps at 1080p for compatible 120 Hz TVs, and that the Switch 2 port will take advantage of the system's docked VRR to smooth frame pacing on supported displays.

A trailer released alongside the announcement is available via the game's official channels, giving players an advance look at visual performance and UI on the Switch 2 hardware.

The original game from Eidos-Montréal earned praise for its narrative and presentation on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and this Switch 2 release brings those systems-level options to Nintendo's next-generation console.

This release is notable for its explicit frame-rate and resolution targets for TV mode — metrics increasingly important to players evaluating multiplatform ports on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Publishers and developers now commonly list preset targets like Quality and Performance to make trade-offs between fidelity and responsiveness clear to consumers.

Expect further technical details and any digital storefront listings to appear on Nintendo's eShop and the game's official social channels as the November 5 launch approaches.
