Pikmin Bloom, the mobile walking-and-collection app developed by Niantic in collaboration with Nintendo, marks its fifth anniversary with a monthlong in-game celebration beginning in November.

The event runs from November 1 at 12:00 a.m. local time until November 30 at 11:59 p.m. local time and introduces the new 5th Anniversary Toy Jewelry Decor Pikmin, while bringing back 4th Anniversary Flower Box and 3rd Anniversary Cupcake Decor Pikmin.

Event overview

- Event period: November 1, 12:00 a.m. (local time) through November 30, 11:59 p.m. (local time).

- New content: 5th Anniversary Toy Jewelry Decor Pikmin debut in November.

- Returning content: 4th Anniversary Flower Box and 3rd Anniversary Cupcake Decor Pikmin return for the festivities.

Missions, rewards, and seedlings

Players complete Event Challenge missions to obtain randomized rewards such as Fruit Acrylic Charms, seedlings that grow into 5th Anniversary Toy Jewelry Decor Pikmin, flower petals, and other items.

When the in-stage Big Flower blooms, players are guaranteed a Gold Seedling in addition to any random rewards earned.

Niantic has said missions for the event will be published on the first day of the event.

Two mission tracks are available at the start of the event: one awards event-limited Mii costumes, and the other offers a selection of rewards.

Completing missions to collect 600 Fruit Acrylic Charms lets players choose rewards that can include seedlings for returning decor Pikmin.

Niantic clarified that, after a set number of mission completions, the selectable rewards will be limited to seedlings for the 4th Anniversary Flower Box and 3rd Anniversary Cupcake Decor Pikmin only.

Brilliant Mushrooms, Mystery Boxes, and battles

During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms appear in the overworld; destroying them yields Mystery Boxes that contain items and Fruit Acrylic Charms.

Niantic notes that 5th Anniversary Toy Jewelry, 4th Anniversary Flower Box, and 3rd Anniversary Cupcake Decor Pikmin are most effective against these mushrooms.

On specific dates during the month, players may encounter Giant Brilliant Mushrooms that drop rarer Mystery Boxes, and the Mushroom Battle Bullhorn can be used up to three times per day.

Niantic also highlighted that the month’s final celebration offers a multi-day window to face Giant Brilliant Mushrooms and encourages teaming up with friends for tougher battles.

Technical notes and availability

Niantic advises players to update Pikmin Bloom to app version 156 or later to ensure the 5th Anniversary Toy Jewelry Decor Pikmin display correctly.

The app is free to start with optional in-game purchases; a compatible smartphone and persistent internet connection are required, and data charges may apply.

As always, Niantic reminds players to remain aware of their surroundings while playing.

Pikmin Bloom is available for iOS and Android smartphones via the App Store and Google Play.

The celebration is mobile-focused and does not involve Nintendo Switch eShop content or Nintendo Direct announcements for this event.
