LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: LEGO SMART Brick Brings 20 Pokémon to Life Across 12 Sets

LEGO Pokémon SMART Play arrives as a new collaboration between LEGO and The Pokémon Company International, introducing LEGO SMART Play technology in a line of twelve sets that feature 20 distinct Pokémon.

The rollout, announced via a Nintendo of America press release, pairs physical LEGO builds with electronics designed to produce motion-responsive lighting and synthesized audio for an enhanced toy experience.

At the heart of the initiative is the LEGO SMART Brick, a 2×4 brick equipped with motion sensors, color sensors, and a real-time sound synthesizer.

According to the announcement, the SMART Brick can be combined with LEGO SMART Tags and SMART Minifigures so physical builds react with dynamic lights and audio.

In plain terms, LEGO says the system lets real-world LEGO constructions respond to player interaction with coordinated visual and sound effects.

The product lineup includes two all-in-one sets that ship with SMART Bricks, SMART Tags, and a charger, putting players straight into interactive play.

Those all-in-one offerings are:

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Training House with Pikachu

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle

A further ten compatible sets include SMART Tags to work with the SMART Brick ecosystem.

Those sets are:

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Jigglypuff Concert

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Berry Bash with Bulbasaur and Bidoof

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Charmander and Geodude’s Cavern Clash

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Trainer’s Buggy Adventure with Squirtle

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly Battle

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Drone Search for Mythical Mew

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Eevee and Lapras’s Treasure Hunt

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Mewtwo’s Lab Break

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Umbreon vs. Garchomp Championship Battle

- LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Cubone and Gengar’s Spooky Showdown

All twelve sets are available for purchase now, the press release states.

The launch includes a promotional livestream event on August 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

EST featuring celebrities Terry Crews and Finn Wolfhard demonstrating the new LEGO SMART Pokémon toys; Crews is scheduled to appear as a Jigglypuff trainer and Wolfhard as a Charizard trainer.

This release represents a notable step for LEGO’s SMART Play platform by integrating recognized entertainment IP with sensor-driven bricks and tags.

For consumers and collectors, the sets offer a way to combine traditional LEGO building with interactive electronics, and the full product list clarifies which packs include SMART Bricks versus SMART Tags.
