Description

French developer 2 Point 21 has officially announced Little Big Adventure: Purple Empire, a comprehensive remake of the cult classic 1997 action-adventure title Little Big Adventure 2.

This highly anticipated project was revealed on April 8, 2025, through the studio’s website and multiple social media channels, accompanied by the unveiling of the game's Steam page and a first glimpse at new concept art. Little Big Adventure 2, originally developed by Adeline Software International, made a significant mark on the late-90s PC gaming landscape with its inventive gameplay, charming characters, and whimsical atmosphere.

Now, with 2 Point 21 at the helm, the remake aims to reintroduce Twinsen's memorable journey to modern audiences under the new title, Little Big Adventure: Purple Empire. The announcement comes on the heels of the successful launch of Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest in November 2024.

That remake, covering the original game in the franchise, debuted across multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

The remake was notable for its overhauled visuals, brand-new music, and enhanced quality-of-life features.

While receiving mixed reviews from critics—Nintendo Life described the game as a 'quirky adventure' but pointed out issues regarding the revised isometric camera and removed mood system—it has resonated positively with players.

As of this writing, Little Big Adventure – Twinsen's Quest maintains a 'very positive' rating on Steam, collected over 600 player reviews. In their official statement, 2 Point 21 described Little Big Adventure: Purple Empire as a "passionately reworked version" of the Adeline Software classic.

The studio shared an early synopsis: after overcoming the threat of Funfrock, protagonist Twinsen enjoys peace with Zoe on Citadel Island.

However, a new and mysterious menace emerges.

Armed with his distinctive tunic and magic ball, Twinsen ventures to the distant planet Zeelich.

Players can look forward to exploring new worlds, interacting with unique characters, solving intricate puzzles, and working to thwart the impending invasion of Twinsun. 2 Point 21 has not confirmed release dates or additional platform details for 'Purple Empire' beyond its planned PC launch on Steam.

The developer’s commitment to modernizing the beloved franchise while preserving the spirit of the originals reflects a promising trend for fans of retro action-adventure games. Stay tuned for further updates as 2 Point 21 continues development on Little Big Adventure: Purple Empire and prepares for its next major reveal.
