Nintendo is kicking off April by expanding the selection of retro-themed profile icons available to Nintendo Switch Online members, spotlighting two of its classic titles: Kirby’s Dream Land and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror. This limited-time update allows subscribers to express their fandom for one of gaming’s most beloved franchises, celebrating both the original Game Boy adventure and the multiplayer-driven Game Boy Advance sequel.
To access these exclusive icons, users must engage with the corresponding Nintendo Switch Online apps. For Kirby’s Dream Land, fans should open the Game Boy app available for all Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. Meanwhile, Kirby & The Amazing Mirror icons require users to access the Game Boy Advance app, which is accessible to those subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack tier.
Each new icon can be redeemed for just 10 Platinum Points through the My Nintendo rewards service. The Kirby’s Dream Land set includes ten distinct character icons, while Kirby & The Amazing Mirror offers a collection of twelve, all featuring a variety of fan-favorite characters and moments from the series’ rich history.
Notably, this isn’t the first time that icons from Kirby & The Amazing Mirror have been offered; they were previously made available about a year ago, highlighting Nintendo’s commitment to periodically revisiting popular entries from its extensive game library for digital rewards.
Nintendo has continuously enhanced the Nintendo Switch Online experience with a steady stream of classic games, features, and member-exclusive bonuses since the service launched in September 2018. By providing retro-inspired profile customization options, the service taps into players’ nostalgia and strengthens engagement among long-time Nintendo fans.
Both Kirby’s Dream Land and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror have left a lasting legacy within the platformer genre. Originally released in 1992 for the Game Boy, Kirby’s Dream Land marked the iconic pink hero’s debut and continues to captivate players with its approachable mechanics and memorable level design. Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, released in 2004 for the Game Boy Advance, stands out for its adventurous four-player cooperative gameplay and non-linear exploration.
Nintendo Switch Online continues to serve as a hub for classic titles and community features, accessible via the Nintendo eShop. Updated rewards like these Kirby icons reinforce Nintendo’s strategy of leveraging its rich history to provide valuable perks for members. For further updates on Nintendo Switch Online offerings, users can visit the official Nintendo website or check the latest news through the Nintendo Switch dashboard.
