An eShop listing spotted by Nintendo Life shows the full collection occupying approximately 131 GB on Nintendo’s next-generation handheld, a figure that highlights how modern remasters and bundled releases strain onboard storage.
Nintendo Life explicitly warned readers to free up space, noting the eShop lists the complete installation at roughly 131 GB on Nintendo Switch 2.
The collection installs as three separate apps, which allows users to install components individually rather than forcing a single monolithic download.
According to the eShop metadata, the first app — containing Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 — is listed at 54.1 GB.
The second app, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, is 26.8 GB.
The third app, Kingdom Hearts III plus its downloadable content, is listed at 45.2 GB.
Those three app sizes add up to 126.1 GB, a total that conflicts with the 131 GB figure shown for the complete package.
Nintendo Life flagged this discrepancy in its reporting; as of this article’s publication, Square Enix has not issued an official clarification on the eShop listing difference.
Because the collection is delivered as multiple installable apps on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop, players can choose which parts to download first, reducing the need to store every title at once.
The eShop listing is the authoritative source for file sizes on Switch platforms, and Nintendo Life’s coverage brought the difference between the summed app sizes and the package total to public attention.
The Kingdom Hearts Collection [I–III] on Nintendo Switch 2 bundles the series’ key HD remasters and Kingdom Hearts III with its DLC, making it one of the more storage-intensive releases on the platform’s launch window.
Players planning to buy the collection should verify available internal or microSD storage ahead of the October 8, 2026 release to ensure a smooth installation experience.
