Nintendo of America has announced the Mario Tennis Fever Open, a one-day competitive event for Mario Tennis Fever on Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for October 24, 2026.

The tournament will begin with an initial Bracket Round at 10:00 a.m.

PT, with the Top 4 players advancing to a livestreamed final stage starting at 1:00 p.m.

Tournament format and rules

- Structure: One-on-One, Best-of-3, Single Elimination until four players remain; Top 4 will compete in a livestreamed Double Elimination bracket.

- Character and equipment rules: All characters and all Fever Rackets are allowed; Fever Rackets limited to one per match.

- Match settings: Singles; Match Length set to Extended Play; Sets: 1; Games: 2; Tiebreaker: Yes; Public: No.

- Court and ball: Stadium Court (Grass); Standard Ball.

Nintendo of America encouraged competitors to prepare their best strategies and gameplay, announcing the Oct. 24 date and detailing the bracket and livestream schedule as part of the official event rollout.

Registration and eligibility

Registration opens at 9:00 a.m.

PT on October 5, 2026 and closes at 9:30 a.m.

PT on October 24, 2026.

All participants must register via Battlefy at battlefy.com/nintendovs/mario-tennis-fever and complete the submission form, which may require full name, home address (no P.O. boxes), phone number, date of birth, contact email, in-game name, 12-digit Nintendo Switch Friend Code, Nintendo Account email, and Nintendo Account User Support Number.

The tournament is open without purchase to legal residents of the United States (including D.C.) and Canada who are age 13 or older, and to residents of Mexico who are age 18 or older.

Eligible players must have access to a Nintendo Switch 2 system, a copy of Mario Tennis Fever, a Nintendo Account, reliable high-speed internet, and any required Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Prizes and notification

Eight prize packages will be awarded in total: one Grand Prize, one First Prize, one Second Prize, one Third Prize, and four Fourth Prize winners.

The Grand, First, and Second Prize packages each include a trophy and branded merchandise (duffle bag, water bottle, convertible cinch, sweatband, hand towel, visor) with an individual ARV of $468.93 USD.

The Third Prize package has an ARV of $168.94 USD; each Fourth Prize package has an ARV of $88.95 USD.

Total prize ARV is $1,931.53 USD.

All potential winners will be notified within 10 days after the tournament concludes.
