Plug In Digital, Abiding Bridge and developer Slormite Studios have confirmed that The Slormancer, a 2D action RPG dungeon crawler, is in development for Nintendo Switch and will be available both at retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop worldwide.

The teams have not specified a release date or window.

The Slormancer positions players as one of several class archetypes — such as the Mighty Knight, Fierce Huntress or Mischievous Mage — leading a band of outcasts against the titular Slormancer and his forces.

Publisher materials emphasize brisk combat, extensive loot systems and hand-crafted pixel art, while promising long playtime through collectible-driven progression.

In a summary of the game’s premise, the studio frames the protagonist as an unlikely hero: born without obvious skill but driven by determination.

That narrative beat is presented as the character’s core motivation, underscoring a tone that mixes self-deprecating humor with heroic progression.

Publisher Plug In Digital has outlined a series of core features aimed at players who enjoy deep customization and replayability:

- Three playable classes and deep ability systems: Each class can unlock and master more than 200 unique abilities, upgrades and passive effects.

Individual active abilities are supported by their own skill trees, allowing customized builds.

- Ancestral Legacy system: Players choose a Legacy to inherit elemental powers from an Ancestral Skill Tree containing more than 150 element-related skills and passives, including Fire, Ice, Thunder, Light and Shadow archetypes.

- Weapons and loot: The game features 120 unique weapons, including rare Slorm Reapers that can be found, leveled and evolved.

Loot tiers range from Normal through Epic, with Legendary items carrying more than 200 unique affixes.

An infinite upgrade mechanic is advertised for item progression.

- Collection and flexibility: The design highlights the ability to unlock skills, runes, ultimatums and Slorm Reapers and to swap between previously unlocked classes and gear at any time, enabling rapid shifts in playstyle.

- Procedural adventures and content variety: The Slormancer will send players through seven distinct environments, including The Slorm Temple and The Netherworld, featuring procedurally generated encounters with unique monsters, elites and bosses that use more than 40 different affixes.

A trailer accompanies the initial announcement, and further details from Plug In Digital, Abiding Bridge and Slormite Studios are expected as development progresses.

For Switch owners, The Slormancer will appear on store pages both in retail channels and on the Nintendo eShop when a release window is announced.
