Koei Tecmo’s acclaimed action RPG, Wild Hearts S, is making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2, with an official release scheduled for July 25, 2025.
Ahead of the highly anticipated launch, a free demo is now available on the Switch 2 eShop in select regions, letting players experience the game’s unique monster-hunting gameplay before release.
Wild Hearts S, developed by Koei Tecmo, has drawn comparisons to the popular Monster Hunter franchise.
The title has attracted attention for its fast-paced cooperative gameplay, robust progression system, and inventive combat mechanics that encourage players to team up against massive, nature-infused beasts in a lush, dynamic world.
The newly launched demo, prominently featured in a promotional video released by Koei Tecmo, invites players to journey through the prologue up until the area known as Minato.
During this trial period, gamers will face signature creatures like Ragetail, Sapscourge, and Kingtusk, offering a glimpse of the game’s challenging hunts and deep customization options.
Most notably, the demo supports both online and local multiplayer, allowing up to four players to hunt together.
Multiplayer functionality isn’t limited to fellow demo users; players can also join hunts with those who already own the full version of Wild Hearts S.
This provides a seamless experience for friends and hunting parties eager to try out the game’s cooperative features ahead of launch.
Furthermore, progress made in the demo is transferable, so players’ save data will carry over directly into the full version upon its release.
This ensures that anyone eager to get an early start won’t lose their achievements or collected items when upgrading to the complete game.
It is important to note that online play through the Nintendo Switch Online service requires a separate subscription, and network play with owners of the full game is restricted to content available within the demo itself.
Currently, the demo can be downloaded from the Switch 2 eShop in markets such as Australia and Japan, with additional regions expected to receive access soon.
The demo requires approximately 24 GB of free storage, while the full game will occupy around 34.5 GB according to Nintendo’s eShop listing.
With cross-region popularity and positive buzz surrounding its cooperative play and robust content updates, Wild Hearts S is shaping up to be one of the more exciting releases for Nintendo’s next-generation hardware this summer.
Stay tuned for further updates as Koei Tecmo expands the demo’s regional availability and prepares for the worldwide launch of Wild Hearts S on July 25, 2025.
