Description

Nintendo and developer Omega Force have officially released Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, a highly anticipated action-title now available on Nintendo Switch 2.

Building upon the legacy of the Hyrule Warriors series and inspired by threads from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, this installment immerses players in the gripping saga of Princess Zelda and King Rauru’s struggle to reclaim ancient Hyrule from the formidable Demon King Ganondorf. In Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, the gameplay focuses on high-intensity hack-and-slash combat, familiar to fans of Dynasty Warriors-style experiences.

Players charge into battle against overwhelming enemy forces, utilizing the unique skills of Princess Zelda, King Rauru, and an expanded cast that features Sage Mineru and several new heroes.

The game ingeniously incorporates Zonai Devices, allowing players to combine these powerful tools with signature character abilities to vanquish formidable bosses and enemy hordes. A core feature of Age of Imprisonment is its robust co-op gameplay options.

Players can join forces with a friend in split-screen local co-op on a single Nintendo Switch 2 system, or connect via two systems using Nintendo’s innovative GameShare feature.

As explained by Nintendo, only one player needs to own the game to start a GameShare session, offering unprecedented flexibility and accessibility for multiplayer action.

For online play, a Nintendo Switch Online membership and Nintendo Account are required, ensuring players can team up regardless of location. Longtime Zelda fans are rewarded with exclusive in-game weapons, depending on their saved data.

Players with saved data from Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity can unlock the High Guard’s Claymore, while save data from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom grants access to the High Guard’s Sword.

These special armaments become available after completing The Howling Tempests mission and returning to the Hyrule map. The integration of amiibo functionality continues in Age of Imprisonment.

By scanning compatible amiibo accessories from the Legend of Zelda series, players can receive valuable in-game rewards, such as crafting materials and items to aid in their quest.

This aligns with Nintendo’s ongoing commitment to blending collectible physical accessories with enhanced game experiences. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment is available now for purchase via the Nintendo eShop and at select retailers.

For additional support, game information, and details regarding amiibo compatibility or GameShare system requirements, players can consult Nintendo’s official resources and support site. With a compelling blend of rich narrative, cooperative gameplay options, and meaningful rewards for loyal fans, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment showcases the best of what Omega Force and Nintendo can achieve on the powerful Nintendo Switch 2 platform.
