Famitsu's weekly retail-tracking report is a reliable bellwether for Japanese hardware and boxed-software demand, and this installment highlights shifting momentum across Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft platforms.
Hardware — week-on-week comparison
Famitsu reports the Switch 2 sold 26,200 units in the most recent week, down from 32,198 units the prior week.
Sony's PlayStation 5 Digital Edition moved 12,210 units, an increase from 9,470 the week before.
Nintendo's existing Switch family also registered sales: the Switch OLED accounted for 3,461 units, Switch Lite for 3,255, and the legacy Switch model added 988 units.
Sony's PS5 Pro sold 456 units; the standard PS5 saw 102 units.
Microsoft's Xbox hardware reported lower retail numbers, with the Xbox Series X Digital Edition at 353 units, the boxed Xbox Series X at 225, and the Xbox Series S at 34 units.
In journalistic terms, Famitsu's data shows the Switch 2 retaining the top hardware position in Japan while experiencing a modest pullback from the previous week.
Sony's PS5 Digital Edition recorded a noticeable uptick, and Nintendo's OLED and Lite models continue to contribute to overall Switch-platform sales.
