Zaleste Aleste/Zanac Crossover Showcases New Gameplay Footage for Nintendo Switch, PS5, and PS4

The much-anticipated shoot-'em-up crossover, Zaleste, blending the acclaimed Aleste and Zanac franchises, is officially heading to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 later this year.

This collaboration between Compile Heart, M2, and D4 Enterprise was a key highlight at the recent Shooter Fes 2025, where fans finally received an extensive first look at the upcoming title’s gameplay.

Initially revealed in January, Zaleste marks a significant team-up between some of Japan’s most respected developers in the shooter genre.

Compile Heart, partnering with legacy specialists M2 and content provider D4 Enterprise, has piqued the interest of genre enthusiasts worldwide.

The new gameplay debuted during a livestream hosted on Mikado Game Center’s YouTube channel, with the broadcast focusing on the game's dynamic second stage. During the livestream, viewers observed one of Zaleste's three playable characters as they battled through a challenging sequence of naval vessels, aggressive enemy robots, and mobile turrets positioned atop rugged ocean cliffs.

The demonstration highlighted several of the game’s special attack features, including innovative abilities such as Breakshot and Plasma Flash, underscoring the title’s fast-paced, strategic action.

The intense stage progressed from coastal skirmishes to a heavily fortified military installation, culminating in a boss encounter against a formidable purple tank.

Afterward, the action soared into the skies for a climactic boss fight—offering a glimpse of the diversity in stage design and enemies that players can expect on release. The Shooter Fes 2025 event also included discussions covering the game’s concept art and character designs, giving insight into the creative vision behind this crossover.
