Senxin Aleste Nintendo Switch Release: M2 Ports Arcade Shooter to Switch on March 18, 2027 (Japan)

M2 has confirmed it will bring Senxin Aleste to Nintendo Switch, with the company announcing a Japan release date of March 18, 2027.

Originally released for SEGA’s arcade cabinet in July 2021, Senxin Aleste is a vertical-scrolling shooter that earned attention for its classic arcade design and fast-paced action.

The Switch port preserves the arcade experience while adding new modes and audio options.

According to M2’s announcement, the Switch release includes an arcade-accurate mode titled Senxin Aleste Origin that recreates the original cabinet presentation.

M2 says this mode lets players “play the arcade version exactly as it was,” and the company has also added its signature M2 Gadgets and the same wallpaper display options that appeared on the arcade release to support faithful playthroughs.

In addition to Origin, the Switch version debuts an arranged mode called Senxin Aleste Blade.

That mode equips players with a new Blade Missile weapon that can destroy multiple enemies and clear incoming projectiles, and it allows on-the-fly character switching to change gameplay dynamics mid-run.

M2 describes the Blade mode as a fresh take that amplifies pacing and intensity compared with the arcade original.

The package also includes a Training mode aimed at players who want to practice specific stages and ship types — a tool M2 pitched as useful for mastering Origin mode and refining skills that map back to the arcade experience.

Audio receives significant attention: alongside the original arcade soundtrack, Senxin Aleste Blade features newly composed tracks by M2 sound team members Sakuoki Kudo and chibi-tech, plus arranged pieces by Hirokazu Oshio.

The release further adds full voice acting to the opening and ending sequences, with performances credited to Hana Takeda.

M2 released a trailer for the Nintendo Switch version to accompany the announcement.

The company has confirmed only the March 18, 2027 launch in Japan; no international release date or additional platform windows have been announced.

Fans of arcade shooters and Switch owners looking for a historically faithful port with modern extras should watch for further details from M2 and regional publishers ahead of the Japanese release.
