Natsume has officially announced the upcoming release of Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home Special Edition, set to arrive on Nintendo Switch, PC, and other consoles in 2025.
This expanded edition of the beloved farming simulator builds upon the mobile original, Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home, and introduces exclusive features and content that fans have come to expect from the long-running Harvest Moon series.
Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home Special Edition welcomes players back to the pastoral charm of Alba Village.
In this new version, players will leave behind urban life to return to their childhood home, a countryside town struggling with an aging population and the outflow of young residents.
With the village in decline, players are tasked with revitalizing the community and turning it into a thriving, vibrant hub.
For the Special Edition, Natsume has introduced significant new features.
Among the most notable is the all-new Hoverbike 5000, a sleek hover scooter designed by the inventive character Doc Jr., which enables players to traverse Alba’s scenic fields quickly and efficiently.
Players will also benefit from the Cleanmeister Autovac, a handy device that automates barn cleaning—streamlining daily farm chores for a smoother gameplay experience.
These inventions are unique to the Special Edition and provide practical solutions to make rural life more enjoyable.
Building and nurturing relationships remain at the heart of the series.
Home Sweet Home Special Edition enhances this experience with new marriage candidates: Ella, an artist looking for inspiration, and Dr.
Nikolai, a researcher with ties to Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos.
In addition to forming romantic relationships, players can establish meaningful friendships with villagers, participate in local festivals, and compete in community contests.
The addition of extra cutscenes further deepens immersion, giving players more opportunities to interact with Alba’s cast of unique characters.
True to the Harvest Moon tradition, players can cultivate crops, care for a variety of animals, fish, mine, and gather resources vital to the village’s growth.
Collecting ‘Happiness’ becomes a key objective, as it unlocks new opportunities and helps transform Alba Village into a lively destination for tourists and potential residents.
Natsume has established a reputation for delivering engaging farming simulations across multiple platforms, with the Harvest Moon series remaining a staple on the Nintendo Switch and eShop.
The studio’s continued innovation, including cross-title integration with characters from The Winds of Anthos, reflects its commitment to enriching the player experience.
Harvest Moon: Home Sweet Home Special Edition is planned for release in 2025 on the Nintendo Switch, PC, and other major consoles.
With upgraded features, new relationships, and streamlined gameplay, this version promises a fresh yet familiar Harvest Moon journey for both newcomers and longtime fans.
