Nintendo has confirmed hands-on playable sessions for its upcoming title Nintendo Switch Sports Resort at San Diego Comic-Con, running July 23–26, 2026.

The company says the demo will give attendees an early chance to try the new entry in person ahead of its planned Switch 2 launch on October 22, 2026.

According to Nintendo's event details, visitors to the convention will be able to play four of the game's 12 sports during the SDCC activation.

Nintendo states sessions will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with attendees queuing at the booth for a chance to sample Resort.

Gameplay will also be showcased outdoors on The Promenade, where event staff will run family-friendly sporting activities tied to the title.

Nintendo will stage a special head-to-head session on July 23 featuring social media creator The Rizzler.

Nintendo has said there will be no prizes for that match, and participants to take part will be chosen at random by event staff.

The publisher frames the appearance as an opportunity for fans to test their skills in a public setting rather than a competitive tournament.

Splatoon Raiders will also be present at the event, with Nintendo listing the title as playable for attendees.

Splatoon Raiders is scheduled to launch on July 23, 2026, making the SDCC activation a timely chance for fans to see the game in action.

Nintendo has used fan-facing events like Comic-Con in previous years to promote upcoming releases and to provide demos ahead of digital storefront launches on the Nintendo eShop.

For industry observers and fans tracking Nintendo's hardware timeline, Nintendo's announcement positions Switch Sports Resort as part of the Switch-to-Switch 2 transition window.

The company has publicly tied the title's wider release to the Switch 2 platform on October 22, 2026.

Attendees at San Diego Comic-Con will therefore get one of the earliest interactive looks at how Nintendo is updating its motion-sports franchise for the next generation.

Nintendo's SDCC plans reinforce the publisher's ongoing strategy of combining live demo spaces with partner programming and creator appearances to build momentum ahead of major release dates announced in Nintendo Direct presentations and on the Nintendo eShop.
