LightSup! Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026 — Red Dunes Games and BugBlio Studio Announce Co-op Roguelite

Red Dunes Games and BugBlio Studio have confirmed that LightSup!, a stylized couch co-op adventure, is in development for Nintendo Switch 2 and will launch digitally on the Nintendo eShop worldwide in 2026.

The announcement positions the title as a session-based roguelite designed for solo play or cooperative runs with up to four players.

Background and development

LightSup! is being developed by Red Dunes Games in collaboration with BugBlio Studio.

The teams describe the project as a colourful, communal experience that channels the frantic team-play energy typical of party co-op titles into a dungeon-exploration format.

The developers say the concept emerged from a desire to capture “pure, joyful chaos among friends” while shifting the action into procedurally driven runs and combat-focused encounters.

Story and setting

In press materials, the publisher outlines the game’s narrative backdrop in clear terms: the action takes place in Lumineia Kingdom, the second-largest region of Illuvia, where diverse peoples once lived under the protection of magical Altars.

An unexpected Eclipse weakened those protections, empowering monsters and unleashing raids on towns and villages.

In response, three young adventurers from Koko Village band together to push back the darkness and investigate the cause of the Eclipse; as the campaign progresses, the trio can recruit additional party members to aid their quest.

Gameplay and features

LightSup! blends cooperative teamwork with roguelite structure.

Players take on the roles of apprentice adventurers, each with distinct abilities and playstyles, and embark on session-based runs that combine combat, resource management and team coordination under mounting pressure.

Encounters include monsters emerging from dungeons and forested areas, and players will interact with Altar of Lights mechanics that influence progression and exploration.

Platform and release

The developers have announced a digital-only release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled for 2026.

A trailer accompanied the announcement, showcasing the game’s visual style and cooperative combat loops.

No specific launch date beyond the 2026 window has been provided by the publisher.
