Square Enix will release four downloadable content (DLC) packs for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World at launch, the company confirmed.
The new Monster-collection entry is due to arrive in retail and digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 worldwide on 3 December 2026, and the publisher has outlined pricing and feature details for each add-on.
The Withered World centers on Bianca and Nera, characters originating from Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.
Bianca is voiced by Eva Feiler and is presented as upbeat and dependable, while Nera, voiced by Kimberly Capera, is characterized as kind and consistently helpful.
Square Enix explained the four DLC packs and pricing as follows: each pack is priced at $9.99 USD, or all four can be purchased together in a DLC 4-ITEM SET for $34.99 USD.
- The Mega Mole Hole ($9.99): Square Enix says these specially tailored dungeons will only spawn monsters the player has previously befriended.
Players can select a monster rank or family to increase the likelihood of encountering specific monsters they want.
- Monster Marathons ($9.99): This minigame lets players send a party of monsters through timed obstacle stages.
According to the publisher’s description, players issue run and jump commands as the group progresses, earning crafting items, experience points and gold according to distance covered and whether the destination is reached.
- The Metallic Ring ($9.99): As outlined by Square Enix, this consumable item transforms nearby enemy monsters into metal variants — including metal slimes, liquid metal slimes, metal king slimes or hunter mechs — and can be used repeatedly, with a 30 in‑game minute cooldown between uses.
- The Scout Run VIP Card ($9.99): The publisher states this card grants Scout Run bonuses, including additional scouty snacks usable in the Scout Run, increased monster spawn rates during Scout Run sessions, and a reduced wait time between uses.
All four DLC packs will be available at launch alongside Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World on 3 December 2026, with purchase options through retail and the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
