Square Enix has officially announced the European, Middle Eastern, Australian, and New Zealand release of the ‘Final Fantasy VII / VIII Remastered Twin Pack’ for Nintendo Switch, expanding access to this highly anticipated bundle beyond its prior Asia-only availability.
The collection is scheduled to arrive on December 4, 2020, and is currently available for pre-order through the official Square Enix store at a retail price of £34.99.
The Final Fantasy VII / VIII Remastered Twin Pack brings together both acclaimed titles on a single Nintendo Switch cartridge.
This physical edition includes the latest enhancements for both games, appealing to long-time fans and collectors looking for a unified experience on Nintendo’s popular hybrid console.
Final Fantasy VII for Nintendo Switch features quality-of-life improvements such as a 3x speed mode, an option to disable random encore battle encounters, and a battle enhancement mode.
Similarly, Final Fantasy VIII Remastered offers battle assist functions, the ability to play at three times normal speed, and a setting to prevent random encounters, modernizing the classic RPG experience for new and returning players alike.
A statement from Square Enix confirmed, in clear terms, that the bundle will see official distribution in multiple new regions—including Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
Previously, fans in these territories could only access the collection through imports or by purchasing digital versions from the Nintendo eShop, with each title sold separately at a lower combined price.
The publisher’s move to offer a physical cartridge directly meets the demand for collector’s editions and those who prefer tangible copies of beloved classics.
The digital versions of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered have proven popular on the Nintendo eShop since their respective launches and have benefited from Nintendo Switch’s robust library of celebrated RPGs.
However, this Twin Pack is tailored for enthusiasts seeking a keepsake or wishing to experience both iconic adventures on one cartridge.
Pre-orders are now open through Square Enix’s official channels.
With the Twin Pack’s December release, fans in Europe, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand can soon add both Final Fantasy VII and VIII Remastered to their Nintendo Switch collection in one definitive package.
