Famitsu released its weekly Japanese software sales chart for the week ending September 28, 2026, showing strong debuts for several new releases and continued strength from established Nintendo franchises.

Bandai Namco’s Ace Combat 8 opened at No. 1 on PlayStation 5 with 63,013 copies sold in its first week, according to Famitsu’s retail survey.

Koei Tecmo’s remastered Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition also launched strongly on PS5, taking the No. 2 slot with 18,724 sales.

Nintendo platforms again dominate the mid- and long-tail of the chart.

Rhythm Heaven Groove for Nintendo Switch sold 15,894 copies this week and has reached a cumulative total of 1,065,816 copies, per Famitsu’s figures.

New listings for Nintendo Switch 2 — indicated in Famitsu’s chart as NS2 — include Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave at No. 4 with 12,787 copies this week (166,646 cumulative) and Minecraft Dungeons 2 at No. 5 with 12,093 copies in its opening week.

Additional notable placements from the top 10: Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered also charted on Nintendo Switch 2 in seventh with 11,684 sales; Derby Stallion 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 — Nintendo Switch 2 Edition posted solid numbers; and Splatoon Raiders continues to move significant volume with a lifetime figure of 676,605 and 5,403 sales for the week.

Long-running Nintendo titles remain high on lifetime lists: Tomodachi Life has reached 1,623,422 total copies and Mario Kart World shows 3,043,716 cumulative sales on Famitsu’s table.

Other established entries include Elden Ring on Nintendo Switch 2 (3,020 this week, 43,259 cumulative) and Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros.

Ultimate, which still charts with a lifetime total of 5,954,636.

Mojang’s Minecraft remains a perennial seller on Switch with 2,713 units sold this week and a cumulative 4,286,436 copies.
