In the latest software sales rankings from Famitsu, Nintendo continues its dominance of the Japanese gaming market, with the Nintendo Switch 2 leading as the platform of choice for top-selling titles.

According to Famitsu's official Japanese software chart, "Mario Kart World" once again claimed the number one position for the week, reinforcing its widespread appeal among Switch 2 owners. "Mario Kart World," developed and published by Nintendo, achieved impressive weekly sales of 37,502 units, bringing its cumulative total to 1,875,397 units sold to date.

This performance underscores the franchise's enduring popularity and strong market presence, particularly following its launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 platform.

The title’s long-term appeal has been a significant driver of hardware and software momentum as Nintendo transitions between console generations. Following closely behind, "Ghost of Yotei" on PlayStation 5 moved 26,776 units this week, adding to a running total of 146,972 units.

Meanwhile, "Battlefield 6" made a notable debut on the same platform with 23,292 units sold during its launch week. Super Mario continues to be a key force for Nintendo.

"Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2" for Nintendo Switch reached sales of 20,083 this week, aggregating to 68,348 since release.

"Donkey Kong Bananza," exclusive to the Switch 2, secured 7,420 additional sales, now totaling 341,755 copies, demonstrating Nintendo’s depth in franchise success. The latest installment in the psychological horror series, "Little Nightmares III," had a strong showing across multiple platforms.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version moved 6,924 units; PlayStation 5’s version added 7,040, and the original Switch version hit 17,806 for its launch week.
