Famitsu remains the go-to source for physical and digital-equivalent retail tracking in Japan, and this week’s data highlights continued demand for Nintendo platforms alongside notable entries from third-party publishers.

The PS5 Pro saw a decline from 418 to 277 units.

These numbers underscore Nintendo’s ongoing strength in the Japanese market, where both legacy Switch models and the new hardware continue to co-exist on retail charts.

Software: Rhythm Heaven Groove Tops the List

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition (FromSoftware) opened strongly on the Switch 2 with 27,604 units in its debut week.

Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 appears multiple times across platforms, including a PS5 entry with 12,691 units and Nintendo Switch entries across formats.

Other notable placements include Splatoon Raiders on Switch 2 with a cumulative 638,262 units and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream on Switch with 10,883 this week and a lifetime total of 1,585,656 units.

What this means: Nintendo-maintained momentum in Japan is clear, with Switch 2 leading hardware and multiple Switch-format releases occupying the software top ten.

FromSoftware’s Elden Ring Tarnished Edition and Konami’s Metal Gear Solid collection both demonstrate the continued commercial relevance of major third-party franchises on Nintendo platforms.
