Weekly Famitsu sales update: Japan's hardware and software charts for the latest reporting week once again favor Nintendo's ecosystem, with the newly released Switch 2 leading hardware unit sales and a pair of Switch titles occupying top positions on the software chart.

According to Famitsu's latest data, the Switch 2 sold 32,198 units in Japan during the reporting period, followed by the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition at 9,470 units.

Nintendo's other Switch hardware performed as follows: Switch OLED 3,108, Switch Lite 2,355, and the original Switch 843.

Microsoft's Xbox Series hardware posted lower figures: Xbox Series X Digital Edition 244, Xbox Series X 104, and Xbox Series S 14.

Sony's PS5 Pro recorded 148 units and the standard PS5 accounted for 112 units.

For week-over-week context, Famitsu's prior-week figures showed the Switch 2 at 34,341 units and the PS5 Digital Edition at 7,441 units.

Other prior-week hardware totals included Switch OLED 2,634, Switch Lite 2,248, and Switch 823, with the PS5 Pro at 219 units.

On the software side, Famitsu's top 10 for the week featured a mix of new releases and catalog stalwarts.

The No.1 position went to [NS2] Derby Stallion 2, which debuted with 29,336 copies sold.

Following closely, [NSW] Rhythm Heaven Groove sold 27,309 copies this week and has reached a cumulative total of 1,049,922 units.

[NS2] Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave posted 26,728 sales for a running total of 153,859.

Other notable placements: [PS5] Silent Hill: Townfall entered the chart at No.4 with 13,596 copies; [NS2] Dragon Quest 11 S debuted at No.5 with 10,844; [PS5] EA Sports FC 27 arrived at No.6 with 9,873 units.

Nintendo catalog titles remain strong — [NSW] Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream sits high on lifetime sales at 1,618,104 units, while [NS2] Splatoon Raiders has reached 671,202 cumulative sales.

The week rounded out with [NS2] EA Sports FC 27 at No.9 (5,952) and [PS5] Onimusha: Way of the Sword at No.10 with 5,141 for a cumulative 110,087.

These figures provide a clear snapshot of Japan's retail market for the week, with Nintendo's hybrid hardware line continuing to drive strong platform sales and both first-party and third-party titles performing well on Switch hardware.
