Japanese gaming publication Famitsu has released the latest weekly hardware and software sales figures, highlighting Nintendo Switch’s continued dominance in the Japanese market.

For the period under review, the Nintendo Switch OLED led hardware sales, with Nintendo platforms also accounting for the majority of the top-performing software titles.

According to Famitsu's figures, the Nintendo Switch OLED sold 19,413 units, outpacing all competitors.

The Nintendo Switch Lite followed with 7,775 units, while the original Nintendo Switch moved 2,522 units.

In comparison, Sony’s PlayStation 5 recorded 4,950 units sold, with the PS5 Pro at 2,689 units and the PS5 Digital Edition at 976 units.

Microsoft's Xbox Series S saw 411 units distributed, while the Xbox Series X and its Digital Edition reached 27 and 12 units respectively.

The PlayStation 4, despite its age, still managed 31 units. Compared to the previous week’s data—which reflected two weeks' worth of activity due to Japanese holidays—hardware sales were generally lower across the board.

That week, the Switch OLED saw 35,678 units sold, with the Switch Lite at 14,406.

PS5 sales numbered 12,261 units, showing a marked decrease for both Nintendo and Sony hardware this week as the data cycle returned to its regular cadence. On the software side, Nintendo Switch exclusives dominated the top ten.

The newly released "Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You Emotional" for Switch led the pack, debuting at number one with 21,032 units sold.

Evergreen titles continued to show impressive longevity: "Minecraft" for Switch secured the second spot with 8,653 units sold and a cumulative total nearing the four million mark.

"Super Mario Party Jamboree" followed with 8,370 units, pushing its lifetime sales over 1.29 million.

"Mario Kart 8 Deluxe" and "Animal Crossing: New Horizons" also remained staples in the top five, evidence of Nintendo’s ongoing strong presence in the Japanese software market. Other notable entries included "Super Smash Bros.

Ultimate," "Donkey Kong Country Returns HD," and "Pokémon Scarlet/Violet," all for Switch.

The only non-Nintendo title in the top ten was "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33" for PlayStation 5, which sold 3,254 units in the latest tracking period. Famitsu’s reliable sales data continues to serve as a vital resource for industry watchers and analysts, illustrating both the enduring appeal of Nintendo’s first-party software and the hardware’s widespread adoption in Japan.

With titles like "Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You Emotional" capturing strong launch momentum and legacy franchises like "Mario Kart" and "Animal Crossing" maintaining impressive sales, the Nintendo Switch platform remains a key driver in the Japanese gaming landscape.
