Nintendo maintains its formidable presence in the Japanese gaming market, as the latest weekly hardware and software sales figures from Famitsu confirm the company's dominance throughout June 2024.
With multiple Switch consoles leading the ranks, and Switch exclusives consistently performing well on the software charts, Nintendo continues to set the pace for the industry in Japan.
Famitsu, the respected Japanese gaming publication, released its most recent hardware sales figures: the Nintendo Switch OLED Model led the week with 11,055 units sold.
This puts it ahead of the PlayStation 5, which sold 10,321 units, and other Nintendo models like the Switch Lite, which shifted 5,978 units.

The PlayStation 5, however, saw its sales more than double week-on-week, rising from 3,832 units.
The Nintendo Switch Lite also observed a modest decline, while the Switch platform maintains overall market momentum ahead of its competitors.
