Oblivion Remastered Switch 2 Release Confirmed for August 11, 2026 — Full Physical Deluxe Edition Detailed

Bethesda Softworks has confirmed that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on August 11, 2026.

The announcement makes the long-running RPG — originally developed by Bethesda Game Studios and first released in 2006 — one of the platform's marquee legacy releases, arriving as a remastered Deluxe Edition with both digital and a full physical cartridge option.

Physical Deluxe Edition and Included Content

Bethesda confirmed that the Oblivion Remastered Deluxe Edition will be available as a physical cartridge containing the complete base game, rather than a code-in-a-box.

The publisher outlined the package contents, saying the physical Deluxe Edition includes the full base game on cartridge plus major expansions and additional downloadable content.

Specifically, the release bundles the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine story expansions alongside DLC such as Fighter's Stronghold, Spell Tomes, Vile Lair, Mehrune's Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard's Tower, The Orrery and the Horse Armor Pack.

The physical package will also include a code unlocking unique digital Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon armors, weapons and horse armor sets.

Switch 2 Technical Targets and Controls

Bethesda has implemented NVIDIA DLSS technology for the Switch 2 version and has published target resolutions and frame-rates: 900p at 30fps in handheld mode and 1080p at 30fps when docked.

The port will support multiple input methods on Switch 2, with motion controls, touch screen input and mouse controls all listed as available options in the announcement.

Developer Context and Quality Expectations

Oblivion was a critical and commercial milestone for Bethesda Game Studios following its 2006 launch on PC and Xbox 360.

For Switch 2 owners, the Deluxe Edition represents a substantial package of content on cartridge, which departs from earlier reports that certain physical releases might ship with download codes rather than full-game media.

Bethesda's commitment to include the full base game on cartridge addresses a long-running demand from collectors and Switch platform users.

Previous Bethesda ports have at times faced performance scrutiny at launch — for example, Skyrim: Anniversary Edition experienced performance and input lag issues on Nintendo hardware that were later mitigated through post-launch updates.

With Oblivion Remastered now confirmed for August 11, 2026, attention will turn to final optimization and how the Switch 2 implementation leverages DLSS and platform features to deliver a stable, playable experience.
