Kemco Announces Dragon Ruins for Nintendo Switch, Set for September 2025 Release
Kemco has officially confirmed the upcoming Nintendo Switch release of Dragon Ruins, a retro-inspired dungeon crawler RPG developed by Graverobber Foundation.
The game, which first debuted in 2024, will become available digitally via the Nintendo eShop on September 4, 2025, bringing its pixel art nostalgia and RPG mechanics to a broader audience of Nintendo Switch players.
Originally crafted by indie developer Graverobber Foundation, Dragon Ruins offers a single-player dungeon crawling experience that pays homage to classic RPGs while adding modern quality-of-life features.
Players are transported to the city of Isigwere, where a newly unearthed ruin harbors legends of a formidable dragon and the promise of untold adventure.
No explorer has emerged victorious—until now.
In a recent statement, Kemco underscored the game’s appeal to fans of old-school RPGs, emphasizing its procedural dungeon layouts and the strategic depth provided by party customization.
"Players can choose from a roster of 12 distinct classes, such as Knight and Archer, organizing a four-person team to tackle each dungeon’s unique challenges," the publisher noted.
Dragon Ruins also features an auto-mapping system, enabling easier navigation of 3D dungeon mazes, and introduces fast-paced auto battle mechanics that help streamline the grind without diminishing the game’s difficulty.
Every foray into the ruins escalates the challenge, as enemies become increasingly formidable, encouraging players to continually level up, upgrade their equipment, and carefully strategize for each boss encounter.
The final confrontation with the legendary dragon promises endless replayability due to the ever-shifting dungeon layouts and evolving threats with each run.
Dragon Ruins blends charming pixel art with relaxing exploration, making it a suitable option for both nostalgic RPG veterans and newcomers alike.
The entire adventure is designed to be a single-player experience, offering immersive storytelling and ample opportunities for players to become legendary heroes through their triumphs in the labyrinths of Isigwere.
The digital version of Dragon Ruins will be priced at $8.99 on the Nintendo eShop at launch.
Kemco is offering a 10% discount for early purchasers who buy the game before September 11, 2025.
A newly released trailer showcases the title’s gameplay and atmospheric retro visuals, providing a glimpse of what players can expect from this Switch-exclusive adventure.
