Nintendo Switch Online Expands Profile Icon Selection with Donkey Kong Country 3 and Yoshi’s Story Sets Nintendo continues to upgrade its Nintendo Switch Online service, offering users new ways to customize their gaming profiles.

The company has just unveiled the latest profile icon collections, spotlighting two beloved classics: Donkey Kong Country 3 and Yoshi’s Story.

These new sets are now available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, adding both nostalgia and variety to the platform’s growing library of user personalization options. The freshly launched Donkey Kong Country 3 icon set takes inspiration from the acclaimed platformer developed by Rare, originally released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

The new icons prominently feature key characters like Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong, capturing the spirit of the classic adventure that helped define the Donkey Kong franchise.

All icons in this set are brand new and exclusive to this release for Nintendo Switch Online members. Accompanying Donkey Kong Country 3 is a batch of icons based on Nintendo’s charming Nintendo 64 title, Yoshi’s Story.

This collection includes a mix of both recently designed and previously released icons, offering fans a chance to personalize their profiles with a variety of Yoshi’s vibrant looks.

Originally launched in 1997 in Japan (1998 internationally), Yoshi’s Story remains a memorable side-scrolling platformer celebrated for its distinctive art style and accessible gameplay. According to Nintendo’s official announcement, both collections are available starting today through the Nintendo Switch Online service.

Subscribers can access the icons by navigating to the Missions & Rewards section on the Nintendo Switch console.

From there, members can redeem Platinum Points earned via Nintendo Switch Online missions to unlock and use these icons for their profiles on the Switch user interface. Nintendo has consistently enhanced the value of Nintendo Switch Online with retro titles, exclusive in-game content, and customizable rewards since its launch in September 2018.

The introduction of new profile icons continues to encourage engagement within the service’s community, allowing players to express their personalities and celebrate classic games.
